The Power of Our Minds

Almost two years ago I had a panic attack while sitting in the nose bleeds at a baseball game. I don't know what caused it, but ever since I have been terrified of anything remotely high.

But I thought I would try this anyway 😬. After climbing halfway up the lighthouse, I started panicking. The spiral staircase was all I saw above and below me. My body was tensing, my heart was racing, and my hands were becoming clammy. I was ready to give up and turn around, to surrender to the belief that heights just weren't my thing anymore.
Until I reminded myself that I needed to do this • To prove that the fear was simply in my head • That deep breathing would get me through.

So I kept going. And to my surprise, when I walked out onto the top deck.. I felt peace.

Once we recognize how much control our minds and thoughts have over our entire existence, we can begin to work toward finding inner peace ~ a line from an article I wrote months ago.
